Eureka Mignon Magnifico Coffee Grinder in Lime Green

Eureka Mignon Magnifico Overview

The Eureka Mignon Magnifico is an all purpose grinder with 55 mm flat hardened steel burrs that give it the highest output in Eureka’s Mignon range. Not only that, the Magnifico features specially designed “diamond inside” burrs which keep their edge for longer compared to stock burrs. The touch screen display is a stand out feature for a grinder so small, making adjustment as easy as it should be. With its larger burrs, the Mignon Magnifico can produce up to 1.8g of coffee per second for espresso, meaning it can produce a barista quality 18g double shot in as little as 10 seconds.

Features and Performance

First of all—the touch screen. It’s vibrant, with a large font size and clean controls. Grind time is adjustable in tenths of a second using the “+” and “-” buttons, and you can freely switch between single and double shots. Also, you can switch to a manual mode for continuous grinding, or lock in your timed settings to keep other people from fiddling.

For performance, it’s equipped with 55 mm flat hardened steel burrs and a strong 1350 RPM motor with an output of 1.4 – 1.8g/s for espresso and 1.9 – 2.5g/s for brew. Eureka’s ACE system helps prevent clumping by eliminating static in ground coffee, which in turn ensures dose consistency.

It’s quiet, measuring in at about 73 dBA, so you won’t ever need to stop a conversation to make your drinks. It brings Eureka’s patented micrometric adjustment, so you expect smooth, stepless adjustments when dialing in the grind. Plus, the portafilter holder fork is adjustable to work with any portafilter on the market.

Why You Should Get It

The Mignon Magnifico is a superb espresso grinder, with it’s quiet grinding and touchscreen controls. The micrometric grind adjustment knob is one of the easiest ways to make very fine changes to grind size that we’ve experienced, as well. With the special “diamond inside” burrs, the burrs will keep their edge for longer and you’ll save money on maintenance down the line. Plus, with a height of under 14 inches, this coffee and espresso grinder will fit just about anywhere. If you’re looking for a compact, espresso-focused grinder, this is the one for you.

5 reviews for Eureka Mignon Magnifico Coffee Grinder in Lime Green

  1. Rebeca Mendoza

I love this coffee grinder. It was easy to setup and is easy to use. This machine is extremely quite. Running water from my sink is louder than the sound coming from this grinder. Also, this grinder is very quick! I use it to grind coffee for a French press and for espresso. The color is beautiful in our kitchen. This is an awesome machine!

  2. Lucía Medina

Really nice features of daily use. It easy to calibrate and looks fantastic on my counter!

  3. Aitana Ortega

    +,s (speed, grind quality)
-,s (no setup information, messy for a 20g grind, dosing cup doesn’t work with the fork).
Overall, I’m happy and just getting used to things. There’s a lot of mess and my wife isn’t too happy about that…

  4. Mariana Guzmán

It took me a long time, lots of review videos, and comparing different grinders to finally come to the decision that this was the one for me. And so glad I did. This thing is quiet, fast, and dialed in. It took me a few shots to get it dialed to where I like it, but it nails it every time now.

  5. Roberto Jiménez

So why did I only give this 4 stars? Because it didn’t come in a chrome finish. However, that may not matter to you. The stuff that really matters is below. But obviously the finish really mattered to me, thus the 4 stars. 😉

I paired this grinder with a Rocket Espresso Mozzafiato R. I chose this grinder because of machine grade quality,Read more about review stating 5 Star Grinder – Fast and Quiet features, and noise level. It’s a little more than I wanted to spend, but so far, I think it’s well worth it. I chose the Magnifico over the Specialita for the cryonic treated burrs. I also chose the Mignon over the Sette 270Wi, because of the machine grade quality. The Sette was more in my price range, but I really wanted a grinder that was built to last. My new setup is an upgrade from a Breville Dual Boiler/Smart Grinder Pro. Although I could pull great shots with the Breville setup, the Rocket/Eureka setup takes my espresso to “local coffee shop” levels.

There is no bad or ugly with this grinder. It’s all good. This thing feels like it’s built to last. Once I spend this much for a grinder, I don’t want to spend more for an upgrade or repairs. This solid chunk of metal feels like it’s built to last. The speed is awesome too. I can grind 22 grams of coffee in about 11 seconds. I use my home roasted coffee that I never take past Full City + (where you’ll see a few droplets of oil on a bean). My old grinder took twice as long to grind 20 grams. Normally, I would single dose, which I still do with for one cup. But now I can add 44 grams of coffee in the hopper and get very close to 2 – 22 gram doses coming out for our morning espresso. Very convenient. Not only is it fast, but it’s very quiet. Compared to my Smart Grinder, the Magnifico is much quieter. And the Breville grinder was already pretty quiet. Feature-wise, I like the two settings for timers. I set one for my 18 gram shots and one for my 22 gram shots. This is perfect for me because that’s all I ever use.

Finally, a tip for dialing in your shots for weight and grind size. Get an inexpensive bag of whole bean coffee roasted to a level near your preference. I went through about a pound of coffee dialing everything in. I didn’t want to waste my home roast on this because it’s way too good. I used LavAzza Caffé Espresso. I didn’t feel bad about throwing out grinds or tossing out test shots. Once I dialed this in, I only had to tweak my grind setting to use with my own coffee. And with the pound of LavAzza I have left, it’s decent enough to make espresso drinks with.

If it only came in a chrome finish. Btw, I went with polished silver. Enjoy your coffee journey.
