Eureka Mignon Specialita Espresso Grinder in White

Eureka Mignon Specialita Overview

The Eureka Mignon Specialità is an all purpose grinder with 55 mm flat hardened steel burrs that give it the highest output in Eureka’s Mignon range. The touch screen display is a stand out feature for a grinder so small, making adjustment as easy as it should be. With its larger burrs, the Mignon Specialità can produce up to 1.8g of coffee per second for espresso, meaning it can produce a barista quality 18g double shot in as little as 10 seconds.

Features and Performance

First of all—the touch screen. We’re thrilled with how intuitive it is. It’s vibrant, with a large font size and clean controls. Grind time is adjustable in tenths of a second using the “+” and “-” buttons, and you can freely switch between single and double shots. Also, you can switch to a manual mode for continuous grinding, or lock in your timed settings to keep other people from fiddling.

For performance, it’s equipped with 55 mm flat hardened steel burrs and a strong 1350 RPM motor with an output of 1.4 – 1.8g/s for espresso and 1.9 – 2.5g/s for brew. Eureka’s ACE system helps prevent clumping by eliminating static in ground coffee, which in turn ensures dose consistency.

It’s quiet, measuring in at about 73 dBA, so you won’t ever need to stop a conversation to make your drinks. It brings Eureka’s patented micrometric adjustment, so you expect smooth, stepless adjustments when dialing in the grind. Plus, the portafilter holder fork is adjustable to work with any portafilter on the market.

Why You Should Get It

The Mignon Specialta is a superb espresso grinder, with it’s quiet grinding and touchscreen controls. The micrometric grind adjustment knob is one of the easiest ways to make very fine changes to grind size that we’ve experienced, as well. Plus, with a height of under 14 inches, this coffee and espresso grinder will fit just about anywhere. If you’re looking for a compact, espresso-focused grinder, this is the one for you.

  1. Márcio Guerreiro

Very smooth grinder! I have this set up strictly as my espresso grinder, and I am impressed in the few weeks I have had it. Very easy to single does and dial in your shots. And I love the available color choices. So well built and looks great on the counter. Oh yes almost forgot, it’s super quiet!

  2. Leandro Lima

upgraded set up from a 15+ yr old Breville that was in final throws of shaking itself apart. Compact and convenient set up with enough scope to start fiddling. Pathfinder is set to go in about 10mins no hanging around. The Specialita quiet and efficient. The both make a compact and handsome couple.

  3. Hugo Gonçalves

The absence of noise is simply incredible. This machine is amazing. Controls are really nice and along with the timer, adjustments are minimal to keep getting consistent grind for excellent shots. Love it (and it looks great)!

  4. Lucas Machado

This is my first true espresso grinder and I’m very impressed by how much easier it made my life!

Once I found the espresso range in the dial (that was a bit hard, as the numbers don’t mean anything, apparently), I can get consistent espresso taste all the time! I also got a bellow for it, thus retention is virtually zero.

After Read more about review stating Elegant, quiet enough and reliablesingle dosing for a while, I wanted to make things easier, so now I leave some beans in the small space of the bellow and refill them daily. I have to grind some throw-away grounds every morning to make sure I’m not brewing old left-over grounds, but having the extra beans allows me to use the timer function and adjust grind size without having to add more beans on each trial and adjustment.

Once I dial the time in for a bag of beans and its grind size, output is pretty consistent, with only up to 0.1g variation when using the bellow to get it all out.

It’s way quieter than my Bodum grinder (a cheap one with details in red), allowing me to keep a conversation while grinding.

Internal cleaning is easy and takes less than 10min with a bit of practice. I can’t say for removing the bottom burr too, because I haven’t done that yet (I don’t have the wrench).

And, on top of all that goodness, it look amazing on my countertop, next to the dark blue Gaggia. The black/chrome design is very elegant.

The package for shipping is its box, but that has lots of internal protection. No complaints there. And, this time, I felt like it was sent faster too, compared to a few days when I bought the Gaggia. I expect my shipping choice to influence the time it takes in transit, not the time for being sent. So that’s a bit disappointing if I got that right, because it means that saving on shipping will make it take longer in multiple ways.

  5. Luna Ribeiro

My first coffee grinder! After much research I chose the Eureka Mignonette Specialita and I couldn’t be happier. Fast, quiet, solid, easy to use. Very happy with the grind quality and adjustability.

  6. Vicente Gomes

Very fine grinder with excellent redemption rate. Good looking and easy to dial in time for single and double espresso
