The Linea PB, designed by and named in recognition of Piero Bambi, refashions the technical and stylistic workings of the Linea Classic, La Marzocco’s industry icon introduced to the marketplace over 20 years ago. In addition to distinctive La Marzocco features, the Linea PB is equipped with exclusive, user friendly interface software that gives the barista control over boiler temperature, brewing volume, hot water tap dose and other options, ensuring a new level of performance and reliability. The machine’s lower profile and increased work area make it practical, without abandoning world renown Italian design.

Very heavy and feels well built. The hopper and port handle are cheaper plastic. The grinder is rather quiet and does a good job of grinding. The timer switch and button again feel rather cheap. The grinding function and chrome case seem to be superior quality “mixed” with rather cheap accessories. The knob that adjust the grind feels great with a heavy resistance giving the impression that stepless grinding is indeed happening but when you turn the knob for the timer you immediately feel as though you are adjusting a kids toy. It is a weird combination like you are buying a Cadillac Escalade the has roll up windows and vinyl seats.

Fantastic results! I went with the La Marzocco because I wanted something quiet in the mornings (and afternoons). It delivers in spades. I also wanted a timer which it of course offers. I’ve been using it as a single doser. I just leave the lid off. Popcorning and retention are very minor and in my mind non-issues.
