Profitec Pro 400 Espresso Machine With Flow Control

Profitec Pro 400 With Flow Control Overview

The Profitec Pro 400 With Flow Control is a small but mighty heat exchanger espresso machine that is perfect for kitchens of any size. As the most compact machine from Profitec’s lineup, you can save some space without sacrificing the features that you usually see on high-end espresso machines. From the bigger features like the E61 brew group down to the small details like interchangeable disclets with different colors to match your kitchen, Profitec has thought of it all in the design of the Pro 400.

Features and Performance

The 1.6-liter stainless steel boiler on the Pro 400 With Flow Control is made of stainless steel, which allows for a durable heating element that will evenly heat up for your morning brew. The heat exchanger boiler can brew and steam at the same time, and you can also quickly and easily dispense hot water through the separate hot water wand.

The Pro 400 With Flow Control is also equipped with a switch that lets you choose from three different temperature presets as well as an optional pre-infusion mode and ECO mode. The three temperatures are 248°F (120°C), 255.2°F (124°C), and 262.4°F (128°C). Additionally, you can use the switch to trigger the pre-infusion process and to toggle the ECO mode. The machine comes with ECO mode already enabled, but you can choose to deactivate it (and reactivate it) as you like.

With the addition of flow control, you can adjust the rate that water passes through your espresso puck during the brewing process. So whether you want to test out the perfect preinfusion or adjust the flow rate depending on the coffee you’re brewing, you can use the flow control knob to help.

It’s obvious when you get your hands on the Pro 400 With Flow Control that its designers put a lot of thought into user experience. Not only is the machine beautiful to look at, but it also has small features that make a big difference. For example, you can find a convenient storage spot under the drip tray for your blind disc to make daily cleaning and maintenance easy, and there’s a large removable cup warming tray on top of the machine to preheat your mugs or espresso cups. You can also choose from four different colored disclets for the front knobs of the machine and easily switch them out to match your kitchen or just your mood.

At just 9 inches wide, 17.6 inches deep, and 14.6 inches tall, the Pro 400 With Flow Control can easily fit into most kitchens. The cup tray on top is easily removable to allow you to refill the 2.8-liter water reservoir located at the back of the machine, and the Pro 400 With Flow Control’s automatic shut-off feature will let you know when the water is too low to brew or steam without damaging your machine. Even with its small size, you still get the high-quality features you see in other prosumer espresso machines like an E61 brew group for temperature stability and dual pressure gauges on the front of the machine.

Absolutely LOVE this machine a HARFAN COFFEE

  2. Rocío Diez

We love our Profitec Pro 400!
This machine gives the most beautiful results with a taste you can only find in the best espresso bars. Starbucks got nothing on this! We upgraded from our old Breville and will never look back!
I’ll admit I hesitated with the price point, but now I say it was worth every penny!

  3. Cesar Ferrer

I love my machine, but it really is a step up from anything I have every used. Before buying, make sure you have all the other components necessary to make good espresso ready. I’ve noticed a cheap grinder doesn’t do well in this machine. Non-fresh beans also don’t do well. It is not a beginner machine, and you should be ready to spend a lot of ti..

Superb! The size is perfect in our space. Tactile controls, fit and finish, all excellent. We researched for a durable, high quality machine that is easy to use, and the Pro 400 surpassed our expectations by miles. Making our best coffee drinks right at home! Can’t imagine living without the flow control unit now.

  5. Tomas Soto

I spent months researching my upgrade from a Gaggia baby twin. This machine gave me the most for the money. Some amount of temperature control which I have used on light and dark roasts and it works great. Flow control, high performance steam, and pre-infusion. I am very happy with it and it makes delicious espresso and steamed milk. Also recommenRead more about review stating Great VALUE and SIZE!d pairing with the Bestcup M package for taste and ease of maintenance. I also love the size on my counter as I don’t have a ton of room. I wish the hot water valve was turned out some to make reaching the brew lever easier but it is very workable as is.

I’ve had a Gaggia Classic pro at home for about 2 and a half years now and have worked part time as a barista for even longer than that. I got to where I wanted to have more control over my shots and an experience more akin to the commercial machine I use at work. I originally was looking at a Rocket Apartmeneto but this machine is packed with somRead more about review stating Great machine and excellent customer service!e great features, in a more compact design, and at a better price. It was exactly what I needed. I really appreciate the 3 different temperature settings and the ability to adjust the brew pressure without having to take the machine apart. The machine looks great and the build quality is fantastic. But most importantly it has produced some great shots. For anyone looking at stepping up their espresso game and getting a heat exchanger I couldn’t recommend this one more.

I did have one minor issue in that when mine arrived it had a crack in its water tank. It was usable, it was just at the top, but still not what I expected from a machine like this. I emailed whole latte love that afternoon and they placed an order for a replacement tank first thing in the morning, which I received just a couple days later. Really appreciate the speed at which they resolved the issue and will absolutely do business with them again in the future!

I am still getting the variables worked out for some wonderful espresso (I have had a few good shots as I tweak the parameters). This is a solidly-built machine – made to last and made to function with the precision needed for great espresso. Although it doesn’t have PID, it does have 3 different temperature settings, which helps with medium vs. dRead more about review stating A super prosumer espresso machineark roasts. I love that the machine is totally and immediately response to the operations that I give to it. There’s no guess work with this machine, but a lot to learn – but it’s fun and the great shots to come are worth the practicing. HARFAN COFFEE checked the machine out before shipping it, so I know it will work well.

  8. Javier Carmona

Everyone has already said the good stuff. It’s AWESOME. Quality and performance are 100%.

ONE thing to check on the flow-control equipped machines: After 4-5 days of use, my flow-control knob started to lose its travel. It started out at the full 2 turns of adjustment and worked its way to where I only had half a turn of the knob and veryRead more about review stating Quality & Performance. ONE minor issue. low flow. Simple fix tho, the brass jet inside the mushroom wasn’t torqued quite enough and loosened up, presumably as the flow control was rotated and the machine thermo-cycled. Take it apart, give the brass jet a quick torque with a 7mm ratchet and you’re back in business!

Thanks HARFAN COFFEE for your diligence in only offering the best machines on the market! SUPER impressed with it and the coffee it has produced already.

This is an incredible machine the build quality is top notch and I could not be happier with this purchase. I upgraded from my Gaggis classic which I’ve had for several years and I can make really good cappuccinos with it but after finally taking the plunge and buying this Prosumer machine I understand the difference. I’ve had at least four espresRead more about review stating So happy with this purchaseso machines in the past which were all kitchen appliances including the Gaggia classic which is a next level appliance that works very well for making espresso drinks. But this Profitec pro 400 is an actual machine. From the size and build quality to the operation they are all just next level and so well done. When the pump turns on it’s like a generator is turning on. I’ve only had it a couple of days so I’ve got a lot to learn but my initial impression is that this is more than I could’ve hoped for and I am glad I finally got the machine I really wanted. I feel confident in saying that you will love it too if you buy this machine. You can thank me later!
