Quick Mill Pippa Semi Automatic Espresso Machine

Quick Mill Pippa Overview

The Quick Mill Pippa is a semi-automatic espresso machine of the semi-professional variety that touts a 1.8 L water tank accessible from the side of the machine, .45 L single boiler made of brass, 1,000 W heater and 58 mm commercial style portafilter.
The Pippa has a stainless steel 304, super mirror body, three different thermometers to measure coffee, steam and safety separately, a lever switch 1-0-2 to protect the heater, a 16 bar brew pressure gauge and a no burn commercial style steam/water wand.

Features and Performance

The Quick Mill Pippa measures 15 in tall, 10 in wide and 12 in deep with a weight of roughly 26 lbs, so it can fit just about anywhere in the home.
The Pippa has a 1.8 L manual fill water tank that can be easily accessed from the side of the machine. This offers a much more convenient solution for water tank maintenance when compared to similar machines, which require that you reach over the top of the machine to pull out the water tank. As an added touch, the Pippa is wrapped in a stainless steel 304, super mirror body, making it a good conversation piece for when your guests see it shining in your kitchen.

The .45 L single boiler made of brass allows for quicker heating and improved heat retention, both of which are valuable properties in a single-boiler machine. The 1,000 W heater also aids in quicker heating, going from cold to brew in less than 10 minutes and ready to steam in less than 2 minutes.
Also worth noting are the commercial style 58 mm portafilter and no burn steam/water wand, both of which are commonplace at a café, as well as a 16 bar brew pressure gauge to help you adjust brew pressure to your preference.

An upgrade from a Gaggia Classic, this is a solidly built machine with great performance so far (5 weeks). Takes longer to heat up (10 min), but performs well, is quiet and powerful steam. The smaller water container is not as big a factor as I thought as it is easily accessible. The hassles are the need to refill boiler after steam and the stainlRead more about review stating Solid Machineess drip tray cover is difficult to get back in place. Very happy with my purchase and service from HARFAN COFFEE. I expect this machine will last me many years.

Still getting to know the machine, but initial impressions are mixed. The wood accents are pretty weak if I’m honest and don’t look much like the pictures. Very grey and washed out and no grain or interest in them, so I’ll probably replace them myself. If I’d have known they’d be like that I would have opted for the original black plastic model. Aside from that and the fact the the only piece of deck on the machine (the small Italian flag emblem) is wonky :man-facepalming::man-facepalming: The overall machine has a decent visual aesthetic.

The led lights next to the switches are COMPLETELY useless unfortunately and I can’t tell whether they’re on or off even in a kitchen that is not that bright. Will, again, probably have to try and replace them myself somehow.

I’d check out the machine in person if you’re considering buying. It makes a good espresso but for that kind of money I’m pretty disappointed in these issues.

I took the plunge to upgrade to a real espresso machine and have no regrets with my choice. The Quick Mill Pippa is a nice balance of features and quality at a reasonable price. As a newbie, having a brew pressure gauge helped take some of the guesswork out of dialing in a great Espresso. HARFAN COFFEE support team were great and answered my questRead more about review stating Great Espresso Machineions quickly. Be warned, a cheap burr grinder will not produce powder fine enough to develop the 9 bars of pressure needed to make espresso in this machine. I ended up upgrading to a Eureka Mignon Silenzio grinder. Very happy with the pairing, but hadn’t planned on the new grinder. Did I mention the steam? The Pippa makes crazy amounts of steam. Paired with an Espro toroid pitcher makes frothing milk a dream. Love the Espresso I’ve produced and love my Pippa and HARFAN COFFEE !

Got the Pippa six months ago to replace my vintage 2003 Gaggia Carezza. Rather than going for the Gaggia Classic, decided to move up to a machine with a brass/nickel plated boiler (rather than aluminum on the Classic. I noticed the added boiler capacity and lasting steam power right away. The boiler seems to be well insulated, as it comes up to teRead more about review stating A Solid Performermp pretty quickly and then holds heat without need to constantly cycle the heating element. And the added ” idle ” position on the on/off switch is a nice feature too. Allows for running the pump without the heating element when it’s time to purge the group head and cool down. I’m looking forward to many years of great espresso from this solid machin
