This system, which consists of three components – Intelligent Dosing, Precision Measurement, and Assisted Tamping – is crucial for achieving an even extraction with perfect crema.
Intelligent dosing is a function that allows the machine’s dosing system to automatically calculate and adjust the dose of freshly ground coffee as required, based on previous grind and tamp outcomes. Precision measurement auto-corrects the next dose, while assisted tamping, with a 7 degree ‘barista twist’ finish and a consistent 10kg (22 lbs) of pressure, replicates the very same action professional baristas make for a polished puck surface and clean tamp face.
In addition to the Impress™ Puck System, the Breville Barista Express Impress boasts an impressive 25 grind settings to enable you to customize the flavor of your coffee to suit the specific needs of different coffee types. Solid machine that pumps out great espresso. A grinder is a must. Unfortunately mine came with some deep scratches on the stainless steel on the back so im knocking off a star.
