JURA GIGA X8 Overview
With the GIGA X8, JURA has doubled down in a big way when it comes to key components like the heating system, grinder, bean hopper, and brew spout. The GIGA X8 features two of each: dual thermoblock heating systems, a pair of independent and electronically adjustable ceramic disc grinders with Automatic Grinder Adjustment (A.G.A.®) for perfectly ground coffee every time, separate left and right bean hoppers for a la carte bean selection, and variable dual brew spouts that can prepare two coffee or two milk specialties at once.
Features and Performance
Aside from the two-by-two features the GIGA X8 offers, there are also a boatload of additional key components that allow this standout machine to truly excel. Pulse Extraction Process (P.E.P.®) is a specialized brewing mode for espresso beverages that changes the extraction process to use rapid pulses of water to extract richer shots on short drinks. Automatic Grinder Adjustment (A.G.A.®) allows you to set your desired grind setting on a per drink basis and the machine will adjust the burrs before grinding. This means you can have coffee beverages always ground coarse and espresso always fine for example.
The Intelligent Water System (I.W.S.®) with RFID technology automatically detects the included CLEARYL Smart water filter, and 32 specialty drink options like one-Touch Americano, offers light, aromatic, beverages.

This is my second JURA giga. I bought a second one for our beach house after enjoying the quick heat of the boiler, ease of cleaning, ease of uses, and insanely consistent, delicious cappuccino. There are more expensive machines out there but this one checked all the boxes for me.

Ive had the machine for a couple of weeks now and i’m new to the whole barista experience. I will say learning hasn’t overwhelmed me, the machine has not frustrated me and the first time I had a drink outside the home I could REALLY tell the difference like night and day! I’m now an espresso snob and proud of it!!

I’m a beginner so can’t speak yet to the quality of the espresso it’s making, but so far appears to be performing well. Only negatives would be that every inch of the machine shows fingerprints and sometimes hot water splashes outside the tray (though this could be user error).
