The Gaggia Cadorna Bariista Plus is a 100% Italian manufactured super-automatic machine made for the home barista. The bean-to-cup machine sports a full color TFT screen display with backlit buttons to compliment it’s high-tech design. Users can access all of their favorite beverages, create & personalize user profiles, and access settings for increased usability.
Features and Performance
The Cadorna Barista Plus features 6 pre-programmed beverages for your convenience, including a ristretto, espresso, espresso lungo, coffee, Americano, and hot water for tea, hot cocoa, or infusions. You can play around with each beverage to craft something that you’ll really love whether it’s a flat white or a standard espresso. If you created something that you know will become a staple in your daily routine, you can program the beverage on the machine by creating one of four available user profiles and saving it for next time.
We love the ability to create user profiles on the Cadorna Barista Plus because if you have multiple people using the machine, you won’t need to worry about anyone tinkering with your set profile or beverages. You can create an espresso or milk-beverage of your choosing, and experiment with the grind setting, coffee temperature, the aroma and dosage using Gaggia’s Optiaroma system, and more which can all be saved to your own profile.
There’s even more to love on this bean-to-cup machine including it’s commercial style steam wand which lets you texture milk, just the way you like it, for any milk beverage. Seen on higher-end and commercial espresso machines, the Cadorna Barista Plus steam wand is perfect for controlling the results and quality of your milk, and you’ll even have the option to create milk suitable for latte art. The Cadorna Barista Plus puts the brewing experience in your hands while giving you functions to fine tune your journey as a home barista, but it doesn’t stop there.
If you’re feeling for decaf or have some pre-ground coffee on hand, the Cadorna Barista Plus features a bypass doser with a measured scoop, you can add just the right amount of coffee for a flavorful cup of joe to start off your day. The built-in burrs are made of ceramic to prevent overheating or burning your coffee and to boost the quality of your coffee’s flavor and aroma.

I am satisfied with the machine. It replaced a gaggia academia. There are things you should know about the machine. Out of the box there is a warning to not use oily coffee or dark coffee. I went out and purchased some medium roast coffee. On the academia I found the best coffee was a fine grind. I set the machine to the finest grind and after 20 Read more about review stating great coffee lives oncups of coffee the grinder was clogged. I had to take the machine apart to unclog it. I reset the grinding setting to less fine and I have not had a problem. The unclogging process was simple, but there is no video on the whole latte love website on this machine. There is a video on a similar machine which was helpful. Since I unclogged it and changed the setting there have been no more problems.

We’ve had the Barista Plus for a year now and we love the convenience, ease of use, digital display and so far hassle free problems. I do recommend following the maintenance schedule recommended, as I just add it to my Apple calendar for reminders. It is the best of automatic features (Grind and tamping) and the option to steam milk drinks to one’Read more about review stating One Year Reviews preference (even latte art). The one concern is refilling the water container, it is plastic and it is well made, but one has to pull on the front face attached to clear container to remove it from machine. There is a possibility with time that it will detach at this point, hopefully it is an area Gaggia is addressing and will cover with their warranty. All in all highly we recommend it for the best of both worlds.
